About CPAP Insider
Who writes CPAP Insider, why it exists, and how to read it.
Who I am
I’m Mark N. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and started CPAP therapy in 2023. Like most people, I got a machine, a mask that didn’t fit, a one-page handout, and very little else. The learning curve was steep and mostly self-taught — forums, manuals, trial and error, and a lot of bad nights.
CPAP Insider is where I write that knowledge down so the next person starts further along than I did.
I am a patient, not a clinician. I have no medical training. Nothing here is a diagnosis or a treatment plan. It is one experienced user’s account plus researched background, and it is no substitute for your sleep physician, your DME provider, or the instructions that came with your equipment.
What you’ll find here
- Guides — the practical stuff: mask fitting, leak fixes, comfort settings, humidification, cleaning, travel, reading your own data in OSCAR.
- Reviews — machines, masks, and accessories, with clear pros and cons and a note on whether I’ve used the thing myself.
How it’s written and checked
Every article follows the same process — drafting, source-checking medical claims, and a human review before anything publishes. The full version is on the editorial process page.
How the site is funded
Some links to products are affiliate links: if you buy through one, CPAP Insider may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products get recommended or what they cost you. See the affiliate disclosure.
